Dealu Mare – “Tuscany” of Romania

Leaving the city behind for the rolling hills of Dealu Mare area.

Arriving at Slănic Prahova Salt Mine Step 200m underground into Europe’s largest salt mine. It’s a surreal, “otherworldly” experience with the purest air you’ll ever breathe. (Bring a jacket—it’s always 12°C!)

After the salt mine we are travelling to the the “Tuscany of Romania.” We’re visiting a top winery in Dealu Mare for a guided tasting of the region’s famous wines.

​The “Big Red” : Don’t leave without trying a Fetească Neagră. It’s the signature grape of the region—dark, spicy, and smooth.

After all that swirling and sipping, we sit down for a late lunch made with fresh local ingredients, perfectly paired with the wines of the region.

In the afternoon, we head back to Bucharest — relaxed, happy, and maybe with a bottle or two for later.
